LIFESTYLE | Hello June

I can't actually believe that we're officially half way through the year - how crazy is that?! In six months time it'll be *whispers* Christmas. That is a crazy, crazy thought. Meanwhile, I'm going to concentrate on what I'm looking forward THIS month.

THE BOOK
I've never read anything by Sarah Dessen before, but her latest book, Once and for All, sounds completely up my street. It's all about Louna, who is the daughter of a famous wedding planner. She's seen all sorts of weddings, but this has only left her cynical about happy ever afters. Therefore, when she meets serial player Ambrose, naturally, she's not interested - and he has no plans to give up. The whole being cynical about love and meeting and falling for a player has been done before, but I'm interested to read about the sub plot line of how she is the daughter of a wedding planner.
Once and for All will be released on the 6th.

THE TV SERIES
*sounds loud klaxon* ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK IS BACK ON NETFLIX. At last! The series picks up after last year's cliffhanger, seeing the inmates on the verge of rioting after the tragic death of Poussey. Series five will actually be shown in real time, over the course of just three days which means it'll be super interesting. BRB, clearing my schedule now...
Orange Is The New Black season five will be available to watch from the 9th June.

THE MOVIE
For a long time, I was not looking forward to the idea of another/new/rebooted Mummy movie. The Mummy movies (excluding the third one) were my absolute favourite when I was growing up and even now I can probably still recite the first movie word for word - so when I heard rumours of a reboot, I was pretty annoyed to say the least...until I watched the trailer. I understand now that it's not actually a reboot, as it has nothing to do with the others, and it looks really action packed. The only thing I'm afraid of is that the trailer might have already shown all the best bits from the film! Still, I'll be dragging my boyfriend along to see it very soon, albeit probably with my Meerkat Movies code..
The Mummy will be released on the 8th.

THE EVENT
It's Camden Rocks this weekend! Camden Rocks is a one day event set in - yes, you guessed it - Camden, and sees up to 250 bands play in 25 venues. I've been just the once before and all I remember from it was that I got horribly, horribly drunk, but this year I'm actually there on official press business so it'll just be a couple of beers for me! There's a huge wide range of artists playing this year, but some of the biggest include Feeder, The Coral and The Damned. It's going to be a fun day, but it's also a really good way to check out different venues you wouldn't normally visit - prior to this, I only knew of The Electric Ballroom and The Roundhouse in Camden - who knew there were so many different music venues? P.S You can find out who I'm most looking forward to seeing here.
Camden Rocks takes place on the 5th.

ANYTHING ELSE?
Poundfit have launched this amazing new fitness regime, Rise Of The Rebel Tour. Basically you sign up, and each week you get an exclusive workout delivered to your inbox, along with a meal plan, motivational words and a playlist - and there's a super motivating community all taking part. You need a pair of Ripstix or similar to participate, but if you don't want to shell out for a pair, why not try buying an actual pair of drumsticks in the meantime, at least until you know you want to commit? Alternatively, have a look at instructors in your area as they're more than likely to have some spare pairs to sell. Rise Of The Rebel tour is now on week two, but there's still time to sign up for the remainder of the regime. It's so much fun, and last week's class left me sweating like a pig = but feeling so good about myself!

What are you looking forward to this month? Let me know!
