LIFESTYLE | Hello November

Oh my god. I can't believe were essentially the month before Christmas. Now that Halloween is out of the way, the next couple of months are just going to fly by!

And even though it's not December yet, I'm already seeing Christmas everywhere, from beautiful Christmas pressies in TK Maxx, to Christmas related event invites arriving in my inbox.

Here's what I'm looking forward to this November...

Formidable Joy | Formidable Joy Blog | Hello November | Taste Of London | A Street Cat Named Bob | My Dead Boyfriend | Twenty One Pilots | 21 Pilots | Nicola Yoon | The Sun Is Also A Star |139 Copeland Road

I've heard Nicola Yoon is one to watch - and her latest novel, due for release on today - is meant to be a contemporary take on love and destiny between two characters from different cultures. On paper, The Sun Is Also A Star sounds like a pretty basic love story, but the reviews are suggesting it's one of her best yet, without being too much. I'm looking forward to reading this one and hope it'll help me become a fan of Nicola's writing and find a bunch of her other books to read.

I'm not usually one to write about one specific gig in these types of posts, but I truly believe that this band puts on a show like none other. Twenty One Pilots are finally returning to the UK for two shows at Alexandra Palace. I can't quite explain why I believe the show will be different - I guess because although the band is considered alternative, I wouldn't say it's the kind of gig that requires tons of moshing. In fact, I believe a lot of their songs (and their music videos and live performances) are actually quite artistic and moving, so this should be an eyeopener. Plus, everyone knows a gig at Ally Pally is huge, so I really can't wait. My friend is taking the afternoon off work so we can head down a bit early, grab something to eat in central London and then hopefully get a decent spot near the front. I have a feeling it's gonna be emotional, fact, saying that, just getting the tickets were emotional! The shows sold out almost immediately, and I can't tell you how chuffed I was to finally get a ticket, despite the website changing it's mind about being sold out!

On the 18th, A Street Cat Named Bob is released in cinemas. I have to say, I wasn't much interested in this film until I watched the trailer. I was given the book as a gift when I was younger but never got around to reading it, however I'll be making the effort to see the movie that stars Luke Treadaway and Bob, the actual cat from the real life story. The story is about a cat who essentially saves a homeless man's life, and helps act as motivation for him to keep going and overcome his addictions. Also worth a mention is My Dead Boyfriend - an indie comedy starring Heather Graham which looks like my type of movie by far. Out on the 3rd.

Foodie lovers rejoice - Taste of London is back, this time for the festive edition! Between the 17th and 20th of November, Tobacco Dock will be transformed into a foodie haven with 20 of London's top restaurants, cooking classes, food and drink pairings, craft beer, wine tastings, live music, shopping and much more. You can already check out the menus, and I'm looking forward to visiting Bubbledogs in particular, with a menu featuring a Santa's Sausage hot dog! Tickets are on sale now.

Halloween may officially be over - but that doesn't mean the scary fun has to stop. I'm not exactly sure that 139 Copeland Road is, but it sounds terrifying. Throughout the month of November (from the 4th - 30th), intimate audiences of 15 will explore two derelict properties in Peckham Rye and lead by a renowned psychic. The unique immersive experience - and seance - will help those attending to discover exactly what happened when a huge fire broke out at 139 Copeland Road in 1974 - with everyone still inside. The company behind this experience have warned that whatever happens next - they cannot predict or apologise for. CREEPY OR WHAT?!

What are you excited for this month? Let me know!
