HALLOWEEN | Homeware wish list

So, I guess this is growing up.

Recently, I've noticed a change in myself when going shopping. Back in the day, a visit to Primark or TK Maxx would involve near hours spent trawling through the clothes rails, enjoying the bargains from good ol' Primarni or the edgy-slightly-gothic-wear on offer from those few rails at TK Maxx.

But this has changed. Although I do always allow myself a quick mooch at these sections when visiting such stores, these days I find myself much more excited to visit their homeware ranges.

Don't ask me why. I don't have my own place yet (although I'm saving for my own flat, so this is normally my excuse when buying something homely!) I'm currently living at home-staying-at-my-nans (or maybe it's the other way around, I'm not quite sure) - so my 'home' life so to speak is all over the place.

Yet I can't help treating myself. Recently, I bought a set of four skull/Halloween glasses from TK Maxx, and, from Primark, new jars to drink out of and cute candles. I also bought my first ever quilt set at Primark as purchased by me (and seen above, how cute is it?!) - and this is something else I'm rather addicted to. How many bedding sets does one person need?! A few, it may seem, even though changing my sheets stresses me out so much that it gives me a headache and causes me to have a ten minute sit down and a cup of tea in between.

Still, I digress. I still remember the first time I ever purchased a lamp for my room and what a grown up I felt! I'm definitely getting old but there is nothing wrong with going on a homeware splurge. Even if you don't own your own place and have nowhere to put it. That's okay, I'll just hide it all in the bottom of my wardrobe until the time comes...

Anyway. Halloween is truly my time to shine. Most people buy Halloween things for just the season but no - not me. I love skulls and anything dark, so when shops stock Halloween homeware or decorations, I'm buying for all year round baby!

Here's my Halloween homeware wish list.

I love this glamorous and sparkly skull from TK Maxx, and I have to admit, it won't be my first skull owned! Many people find skulls morbid which I understand - plain ones are great for Halloween, but decorated ones in bright colours or with added sparkle makes them ever so stylish and suitable for all year round.

A stags head is kind of Halloweeny, right?! I spotted these in a shop in Amsterdam and fell in love with them immediately - what a unique take on the traditional idea. I think these are so chic and offbeat, and you can get them in a number of different designs. This one I spotted from Liberty of London, but I have seen them for sale at a few different places.

I found these baubles in the Christmas section on Primark's website but, to be honest, the colours mean they work just as well for Halloween, y'know, if you wanted to make a Halloween tree or something. I'm not sure what else I could do with baubles but hey, they're super cute too.

I just found this googling Halloween cushions to be honest because there are so many about. I love this one which also counts as an edgy homage to David Bowie. It's from Throw Pillows but I'm 85% sure I'd probably find this in Camden too.

Another TK Maxx find. TK Maxx has the most beautiful snow globes in for Halloween at the moment and I swear I've fallen in love with them all. This one is really sweet and actually quite romantic too. I'd have this on my nightstand all year round.

Am I missing anything from my Halloween homeware wish list? Let me know!

  1. I love visiting the homeware section since doing up my bedroom & halloween is my favourite time of year so I will definitely be having a mooch around this section when I'm next out shopping!

  2. Ooh, I love using Halloween decorations all year round as well! I totally agree that decorated skulls can look great any time of the year, especially if you want to give your rooms a bit of edge and subtle gothic vibes.
