BEAUTY | Boots & MAC Haul

Last week, I finally decided I was sick of the state of my skin and how I looked at the end of a long day at work thanks to my foundation that just wasn't up to par.

It had gotten to the point where I couldn't ignore my lack of decent makeup and too many of my favourite products had run out at home so it was time for another stock up.

I also hadn't been looking after my skin very well lately, so needed to invest in some decent skincare products.

So I headed into the centre of Milton Keynes after work on Thursday to pick up some must haves. Here's what I bought.

I've only just managed to get around to taking my photos, hence why the products look used!

EAU THERMALE AVENE SKINCARE
I've been a huge fan of Eau Thermale Avene for a long time now and found ever since I started using it a good few years ago, it made a huge difference to my skin. My skin feels so much clearer and softer with it and although the specific products tend to change now and then, I always get myself a cleanser, toner and moisturizer from them. This time around, I chose to get a special edition kit for sensitive skin because although my skin isn't sensitive, it had all the products I needed for cheaper. It's only been a few days but already I can see a huge difference in my skin, being that recently I've just been using face wipes on a day-to-day basis as I didn't get around to stocking up.

MAX FACTOR VOLUPTUOUS FALSE LASH EFFECT MASCARA
I've been after a new mascara for ages now and have yet to find 'my go-to' mascara. The closest I've ever gotten to a long-lasting favourite product is Benefit's BADgal lash mascara which I have been thinking about going back to. I saw this mascara advertised in Cosmo and thought I'd try it out and, so far, I'm very pleased with it. It gives my lashes a lot of volume and, more importantly, is long lasting.

MAX FACTOR COLOUR CORRECTOR STICK
Someone in Boots actually recommended this highlighter to me as I said I'd never really used one before and wanted to try it. They said it was perfect for beginners, but so far I'm not very impressed. Maybe I'm not using it right, but I think I'd be better using a powder one. Still, we'll see. At least it was half price alongside the mascara.

RIMMEL LONDON SCANDAL EYES WATERPROOF EYELINER
I don't worry too much about the brand of eyeliner as I find they all do the job really and this one does just fine. I can't really live without eyeliner. The only thing I don't like about this one is that it doesn't have a smudger bit on the end, but my last eyeliner that has ran out does, so I just use that one with it if I need to, or any makeup brushes I have to hand. I didn't realize when picking this up that it was waterproof either, but I don't mind.

MAC STUDIO FACE AND BODY FOUNDATION
I love Mac foundation and finds it always leaves my skin looking great without being too heavy. This is the first time I've used this one as it turns out the smaller one I used before was actually just a liquid concealer as opposed to a foundation, so I'm glad I upgraded to this bigger bottle. It'll last longer and is better for price, and I find it's just that bit more lighter then the concealer which is good because it still covers up and evens out my skin well, but makes it look super natural, also.

So that's it, really, I also picked up a new deodorant and some face wipes for those odd few nights where I can't be bothered with a proper routine but still make sure to take off my make up. It's not a pricey haul - except for perhaps the Mac - but it's everything I really needed and I'm thoroughly impressed with most of the new products so far.
