Amidst the crazy weather April brought us (sunshine, rain, hail, snow and crazy, crazy wind), I've got my fingers crossed that May might just be a little bit nicer.

Who am I kidding?! We live in England and I'm still living in thick Christmas jumpers at work...

I was going to mention Captain America: Civil War but I wasn't entirely sure about the release dates of this film, although I am actually seeing it today. Instead I'm going to mention X-Men: Apocalypse which I'm eager to see. I think the X-Men series is one of those series' that's probably been done way too much but doesn't get too boring or confusing. I'll likely have to watch the previous couple before seeing this one, but I'm still excited. Plus, as usual, the casting is great and I'm particularly looking forward to seeing Evan Peters, who I loooooooove. X-Men: Apocalypse is out on the 18th of May.

Scream is back! That's the TV show, not the film, obviously. You have no idea how excited I am for this second season. I was rather wary about the first season, only settling down to watch it when my brother and dad were watching it one evening. To be honest, I really didn't think it would work. As one character put it, slasher films burn fast. Can this really be transitioned over to TV? Yes. Yes it can. I'm eager to see how they're going to continue a second season now that, y'know, the killer storyline was wrapped up in season one but I'm sure they'll manage. I'm even more eager to have Amadeus Serefini, who plays Kieran Wilcox, grace my TV screen once more.

I've loved Paige Toon's writing ever since Johnny Be Good, one of the best chick-lits with an edge I've ever read. So I'm looking forward to her newest novel, The One We Fell In Love With, which will be released on the 19th May. It tells the story of three very different girls who have one thing in common and that one thing is Angus. Despite forever thinking Angus is a cats name (due to Angus, Thongs & Full Frontal Snogging), I am excited to read this book. One of the characters, Phoebe, is stuck between choosing to settle down and get married or return to the French Alps to continue her passion and I think I'll relate to her the most. Even though I'm single and already do do my passion (does that makes sense?), I've always had this massive fear of settling down and having to give up adventures and the things I love. So, yeah. I'm looking forward to this.

Between 19th - 22nd May, a townhouse in Spitalfields will be transformed into a topsy-turvy world, inspired by the new Alice in Wonderland movie. The House of Time and Wonder will feature games, music, performances, food and drink to create a mini adventure in the house. Basically, I don't really know what it is but it sounds rather quirky and right up my street so of course I have booked tickets.

Okay, here's where my geeky side comes out. Back in the days of being a student and living with my ex, he had an Xbox and a sizable collection of zombie games. I'd always been raised as a Playstation girl, having watched my brother play many a games on a console until eventually it was passed down to me with a copy of Kingdom Hearts, bur even though I still love Playstation dearly, one day, I fell for the Xbox. It came about one day when I was hobbling around unable to walk, after standing on a piece of broken glass on a night out previously. The glass went through my flimsy shoe and cut my foot open, so for the next couple of days I was bed-bound, using an ironing board as a makeshift table (raised at the perfect length) and with just the Xbox for company whilst my ex went to work. It was then that my love for zombie games began so imagine how gutted I was when I bought an Xbox One last year only to find all my old favourite horror games were not compatible on the newest model.

Xbox are finally releasing old Xbox 360 games to play on the Xbox one, and I'm super pleased that the super-gory-super-awesome Dead Island will be available on the console from the 31st of May. I HAVE WAITED YEARS TO PLAY THIS GAME. YEARS.

What are you looking forward to this May? Let me know with a comment!
