One of my favourite Christmas gifts this year was this cute and thoughtful present from my sister, My Life: An Autobiographical Journal from Adventures to Zealous plots.
Write-it-yourself books - books that require the readers participation - have become hugely popular in the last year. From Wreck This Journal; perfect for art lovers, to Map My Heart; a book perfect for anyone who's love life might be a bit all over the place. This journal is a little different though; it's part journal and part memoir - the perfect way to reflect back on your life regularly and all the adventures you've had. It's the type of book I know I'm going to keep all my life to re-read and be reminded of all those memories and on top of that, it's also been really fun beginning to actually write in it.
Set out in alphabetical order against chic style of pages, each part offers prompts. So rather then just talking about your day or jotting down a random memory, you write things like advice to your seventy year old self or essentials you can't live without. It's SO cute and the prompts range from meaningful to simply bonkers.
It's such a 'me' gift but I think this is the type of thing ANYONE would love. I hadn't heard of it before I received it as a gift but I know that had I not, I would have eventually bought myself a copy anyway. It's so funky.
What do you think? Are you the type of person that enjoys these write-it-yourself journal books? Let me know!
