On Sunday I finally got the opportunity to go and see Taking Back Sunday Live - a band I've been a fan of since I was about 15 or 16! If you ever had an emo phase like me then there's no doubt you'll remember pop punk anthems such as You Are So Last Summer and Cute Without The E but I was surprised to discover that these songs are about 12 years old now - man do I feel old! I was kind of worried I'd feel a bit lost at the gig since their last album I have on my iPod is an old one so I knew I wouldn't know any of their newer stuff but I was actually pleasantly surprised. Not only did they play a good portion of songs from their album Louder Now as well as the typical favourites that everyone loves, the newer ones were upbeat and catchy and not too hard to catch on to.

It was an awesome night and as ever, I enjoyed letting my hair down and having a bit of a mosh to some rock music - when don't I to be fair? As my first gig of 2014, I really enjoyed myself and thought it was the perfect gig to launch another year of live music.

It was pretty cold and rainy out but I knew I'd get hot there (and I did, it was a fairly small venue but it was over packed!) so I opted for wet look leggings - a bit lighter than jeans, but still warmer then shorts or a skirt. I just threw on an old favourite top from Rebublic (I often seem to come back to this top for gigs) and grabbed my leather jacket. I didn't make too much fuss over my outfit and just chose something that was comfortable but still a little edgy.

Sometimes it's hard being a blogger, especially when it comes to products that everyone raves about but you simply can't afford yourself. I love make up as much as the next girl, but I'd much rather spend my money on gig tickets then expensive products, even if I don't quite feel like a 'proper' blogger without it. Don't get me wrong, I'll splash out every now and then but often I don't need to because I always get spoilt with tons of beautiful makeup at Christmas.

Urban Decay's Naked palette is something I've had my eye on for a long while now, but I've never quite managed to get around to buying it (there are too many bands to see!). Even though it's supposed to be an amazing product, I didn't know if it would be worth the money if I'm not going to get a lot of use out of it. What I really needed was a cheaper version, that way if I didn't end up experimenting with all the different looks I could create using it then it didn't matter!

So when I spotted this W7 In The Buff Eye Colour Palette recently, I just had to buy it.

It's super cheap, I bought it for about £2.50 as it was on sale in Next and I also get my staff discount, but after looking online it seems it never retails for more than £5 which is a huge difference compared to an Urban Decay Naked palette that can cost you up to £40!

It definitely bears a striking resemblance to Urban Decay's Naked, but at a much cheaper price it's more than worth it. W7's In The Buff Eye Colour Palette offers eleven beautiful nude shades that can be mixed and blended together to create the perfect casual look for daytime OR night time. Every colour is beautiful and fairly well pigmented, and it's easy to blend a bunch together to create whatever look you'd like to achieve.

It's kind of ideal for me because although I tend to experiment with my makeup a lot during the evening or for a night out, I do struggle to try out new looks when it comes to day-to-day makeup and this palette has everything all together to ensure that you can mix and match to make some beautiful new looks for yourself.

Here's one example of trying out a few different shades on my eyes. It was really easy to use, although I found myself using one of my own makeup brushes as opposed to the one that came with the palette as it wasn't ideal.

Considering it only cost me £2.50 yet offers everything the Urban Decay naked palette has to offer, I'm pretty pleased with this bargain! The shades are actually so beautiful and I can't wait to experiment with it some more.

Lonely hearts unite - this is the PERFECT product for you this valentines...

I've been a bit AWOL with blogging this week and have genuinely enjoyed having a bit of time out to take a stand back and evaluate exactly where my life is going. I know I'm not the only one to have felt like this - I think there comes a time (or two!) in life when a lot of us have to take a pause and try and really think what's working and what isn't.

However, I couldn't help but blog about this somewhat amazing (as well as beyond creepy) product when it popped up on my newsfeed earlier today.

I find it pretty hard to understand why anyone would want to buy this - inexperienced or not, I'm sure you can find someone to practise on? I have so many questions! Think back to when you were a teen, inexperienced and head over heels in love, nervous about your first ever first date but also desperate to impress. Would you go through with such extreme measures to ensure your kissing skills were up to scratch? Would you find alternative things to practice on such as the back of your hand (understandable) or your dog (not so much). Finally, why on earth would anyone ever make anything like this in the first place?

I think the most disturbing part about all of this is the idea of someone buying a bunch of CPR dummy mouths in bulk to make this product. Why are CPR dummy mouths sold individually as opposed to with the rest of the face? I simply can't wrap my head around any of this but it certainly amused me!

I kind of love how creepy it is but can't say I'll be buying myself one anytime soon...

Saying that, I think this would be the most perfect oddball gift for your other half, y'know, if you're that type of couple that can joke about disturbing stuff like this!

I recently had the chance to review a mi-fi device for Three Mobile Broadband and to be honest, it couldn't have come at a better time. The whole idea of it is to create your own Wi-Fi spot or use this little device on the go. However, my current Wi-Fi connection has been terrible lately, quite possibly because of the weather. All the sounds and pictures being out of sync on Netflix lately has been driving me mad and sometimes my connection just drops for no reason at all!

So I was really pleased to be able to try this out and it was such a lifesaver. For a blogger, the internet is practically my lifeline (I'm sure a few of you agree with me here) and to have slow or unreliable broadband just isn't helpful when you're blogging or writing. A lot of you might agree with me that in some ways, blogging is a lot more than a hobby - it's a way to gain skills, create new opportunities and maybe even make money. To not be able to get a post up on time or being unable to reply to important emails because of a bad broadband connection can seem very unprofessional.

So Three Mobile Broadband was kind of ideal for me, not just in general but as a blogger too. I managed to use the device whilst travelling up to London recently, plugging it in and creating my own Wi-Fi spot which was so great for being on the move. I've got a few blogging events coming up that will actually require me to tweet and update from the event, so even though I was only sent this product to review, it's something I'm personally thinking about purchasing because I know how beneficial it will be to me.

Additionally, it was really easy to set up too, which was another bonus for me. I always struggle with setting up technology; it's great when it's up and running but GETTING it set up is never simple! This took me less then five minutes though!

It's a small device, meaning it fits easily in your handbag, and the signal it creates is really strong. I think it's definitely a perfect example of the next generation of on the go Wi-Fi or, rather, 'Mi-Fi' and if your someone who is always tweeting or emailing or even Instagramming on the go (and let's face it, who isn't? It's not just us bloggers!) then you should definitely think about bagging yourself one of these amazing devices.

Have you ever bought a new outfit that you love so much that you can't stop wearing? That's what happened to me when I bought this gorgeous two-in-one dress from Primark just before Christmas. I'd just popped in to buy some last minute Christmas gifts and on a whim decided to have a look at their dresses as it was the new 'big' Primark out Milton Keynes so I was sure there was bound to be something cute there. Luck was on my side because this dress caught my eye immediately and I was even more pleased to see it was only £5!

And boy did I get the use out of that £5 I spent! I'm not one for wearing an outfit more than once on a night out unless there's a large amount of time between each outing, but I loved this edgy dress so much that I wore it on two nights out over Christmas (one in Dunstable and one in Luton after mine and my friends Christmas meal!) and finally again on Christmas day (with a corny Christmas jumper thrown over the top). It was great because of the red colours it was kind of seasonal too, whilst the leather skirt kept it really on trend and fashionable too.

Yeah this jumper is really baggy on me (which I love!) but I don't know why I'm sticking my tummy out like that haha
I really like it because it's quite edgy but also bang on trend with it's plaid top and leather skirt. admittedly I kind of struggle when it comes to styling tops and skirts together, especially on a night out, so I really love that it looks like it's a top and a skirt rather then a dress. It means I can wear different jumpers over the top to wear it different ways in future. For only £5, I've certainly got a lot of use out of it.

I'm beyond pleased with this dress and have even been told by a friend that she spotted it still in store recently if anyone would like to buy it.

Recently, me and some other bloggers had the opportunity to pop down to Atelier Hairdressing and Beauty Rooms for their Beauty Spot Blogger Event. As the owner explained to us, it was just a little event they put on for us all to meet and get to know the staff and the salon better because they have lots of exciting ideas coming up, most of which are going to feature some bloggers. First and foremost, I absolutely loved this. Most events I've been to in the past, though not a bad thing, have been to showcase a new product or because a company want to get the word out about them, which is fair enough. But for the first time, the lovely staff at Atelier actually seemed very keen to continue a relationship with us bloggers and it was so nice to be kept in mind for that.

The event was like a whole pampering/networking session. They had lots on offer from skin and hair consultations, to staff offering to do our nails and hair. This was great because it was kind of like a mini beauty top up - I had my fringe trimmed and my nails done for free. I also had some great discussions with the staff about colouring my hair in future and some quick and easy updo's I can do with my hair for when I'm at work. I always struggle to experiment with my hair so this was really useful and I was also told to pop in anytime for further advice which was lovely.

I absolutely adored the salon and the whole feel to it. It's based in a really old building which is rich with history, and the salon really has that modern-come-classic feel to it. It's very glam and relaxing, but the building also has lots of character with all it's old wooden beams and ceilings which I loved. It was definitely a bit different, and it was great to see/hear that the staff really like to make your visit worth it. We were given some yummy drinks in some beautiful vintage jam jars, and one member of staff told me that when they do manicures they throw in a hand massage using all different types of product which included different salts and things, all set out on a beautiful little tray which really gives their treatment that personal touch and shows that they're willing and happy to go one step further.

Yummy drinks and nibbles!
The staff also knew their stuff which was a definite benefit in my eyes and I found Atelier Hairdressing and Beauty Rooms had so much to offer from standard manicures and facials to massages and the option to have your skin analysed too. It really was a lovely evening and it was such a great excuse to pop down and just see what was on offer. There were only a few of us bloggers invited along too which made the whole event just that bit more special and intimate. Of course I attended with Bex and Lisa, but I also had the chance to meet and mingle with Sarah, Emily and Hannah.

Us bloggers with all the staff!
I've already decided I'll be back very soon to start the long process of going back blonde and I can't wait to hopefully work with all the lovely staff at Atelier Salon in the future.

Thank you for the invite Atelier and Pickle PR!
