LOTW // NEVER HAVE I EVER FELT LIKE THIS BEFORE

This weekend just gone, I was lucky enough to attend the stunning wedding of my cousin and her new hubby. The wedding had been about two years in the planning, so it was lovely to finally see it arrive. It was held in a beautiful manor house called Horwood House, which had some of the most stunning grounds I've ever seen. Paired with the beautiful sunshine, it was a beyond lovely day. Myself and my parents took a walk around the grounds and to check out the beautiful pond that the house overlooks, and I couldn't help but get them to snap a few photos of my outfit.

Since I had my hair done earlier this week and had one of the most beautiful dresses I've ever laid eyes on to wear, I have to admit, I did have a lot of confidence yesterday. I think I've definitely fallen into the trap of wearing dresses that are either too long or too short, but this loose fitting knee length vintage dress was the perfect length. I think it's the perfect reflection of how far I've come with my fashion choices too. Usually my sister helps me decide an outfit for a wedding, but this one was all me. The accessories matched, the shoes were just right, and I think I looked pretty classy.

Dress - Darccy | Necklace - H&M | Shoes - New Look | Belt - H&M | Fascinator - The Pound Store

I especially enjoyed kicking my feet about over enthusiastically and attempting to re-create 20s dance moves when the wedding singer chose to play songs like 'Jailhouse Rock' and definitely felt the part with my slight 'flapper' dress and my shorter hair!

I absolutely adore the statement necklace, which wasn't much to look at on its own but somehow matched perfectly with the rest of my outfit. The dress was lovely and ideal for a formal event on a hot summers day. It's very loose and easily made me look a lot bigger than I am when I wear it without a belt, but adding that accessory really clinched it in and gave it a modern twist.

The dress itself was actually a freebie back from Bloggers Fashion Week, from one of my new favourite brands, Darccy. This brand specializes in subtly vintage clothing, most of which is suitable for modern wear today but with a nod to old eras.

When I first bought the wedges from the New Look sale, I was worried they'd be a bit too casual for a wedding. But when putting the whole outfit together, they looked great AND they were super comfy. I managed to wear them all day and night, including for loads of boogying on the dance floor. We all had such a laugh dancing and making up goofy dance moves - I think if you go to a family wedding and don't spend the whole time dancing around like an idiot then you're missing out. Dances at family weddings are not a time to be sexy! It's a time to let your hair down and do the running man and moonwalk with your sister...

Everything worn in this outfit post (excluding the fascinator which was from the pound store - eek!) is still in the shops now!
