Last week I posted about how much I loved attending Hit The Deck festival for the first time ever. One of my favourite parts of the day was discovering new music - on my own terms. I loved that I could just walk around and explore, accidentally stumbling into the basement stage in Rock City for example and discovering Ghouls, who I've listened to many times since. It really was a great way to come across new music and learn more about talented upcoming bands.

Just for fun, I've put together a little playlist of my favourite picks from the day. Some bands I already knew, but particularly loved their performance of the song I've used in the playlists, others I discovered on the day. I thought it would be a nice idea to create a playlist so I can listen to it and be reminded of such a great day (and I've listened to it so many times since).

Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to see EVERY band, but these are just my personal favourites from the festival. As you can see, there was a real diverse mix which I loved. The Maine were very upbeat and got everyone moshing, whereas People On Vacation were more chilled and relaxed. Ghouls got everyone dancing with their beyond funky and ska-like beats, and everyone rocked out one last time to Kids In Glass Houses (who have recently announced they are splitting up). There really was something for everyone.

Enjoy and do let me know what you think!
