I don't consider myself the most stylish of ladies, but I had a lot of fun experimenting and dressing up for Bloggers Fashion Week. I really liked that we were given a different dress code for each day, which really made the whole thing a lot fun and exciting. It also eliminated the worry of not knowing what to wear - I know before I found out about the dress codes, I was worried I'd end up turning up either dressed too formal or too casual.
Here's what I wore for each day.
SUMMER GARDEN CHIC
I chose this flirty and floaty peach tea dress for the first day of BLFW because it's quite casual and light but also very feminine too. It's not too over the top and is the perfect dress for a warm summers evening. I love the ruffled collar effect, and I added a thin brown belt just to give it a bit of a stylish edge and to make it a little more fitted. I paired it with some wooden bangles and my studded flats. Simple, but stylish.
MAD HATTER TEA PARTY
I had a lot of fun with this dress code as I saw it as an excuse to get a bit creative. I borrowed this stunning dress from my sister and I love how eye catching the print is. It's quite out there but has a vintage feel to it too. I had lots of fun with my makeup, choosing to wear fake eyelashes, a bright pink lipstick and experimental eye colours (browns on my eyelids and a turquoise green on my eye line). I was really pleased with the overall look and added a statement necklace just to make it just that more 'out there'. Looking back, I think it was really the make up that made the whole look a bit more 'mad hatter' and I was pleased with the look overall.
ALL BLACK CITY CHIC
I think for the final day, what I wore was the most basic. I didn't really have a suitable little black dress, so I just wore all black and threw on a leather jacket to give it a bit of an edge. I used a smokey eye look and a deep red lipstick when it came to my face, and then when I arrived to the event I managed to have some stunning sequin make up added. Being that it was the final night of the event, I do wish I'd dressed up a little more and wore an actual dress, but again I was pleased overall with the final look. Getting my hair done and my makeup added to helped me look a bit more formal so my basic outfit of jeans and a top was okay. My top was completely lace at the back too, which I suppose made the outfit a bit more classy.
Every girl loves to dress up so it was so much fun having a dress code! It's always a bit tough knowing what to wear to blog events, so in a way this made things a lot more easier for me. What do you think of my outfits? I'd love to know your thoughts!
