I've decided to do another Wednesday Wishlist special this week because H&M currently have some great discount codes available to use at the moment!

By entering the code 1304 at check out you can receive £5.00 discount, and by entering the code 9217 you can receive £10.00 discount - and you can use them together to get £15.00 off! I'm not sure how long the code is valid is for so use it while you can!

Flared Jersey top, £7.99

I really like this top as its so light and casual that it can be worn for anything whether it be working out, going out or lazing around. This top looks lovely in the photo with just some shorts and bangles, but it would really look great with anything. High waisted jeans would look really nice.

Figure-fit bodice dress, £19.99

This dress is so cute, I just love the fitted shape of it, especially the way it flares out at the bottom. It looks like a really casual day time prom dress. I think its the perfect dress to wear for a summer wedding with high wedges and lots of girly accessories. A brown statement belt would look really good with this outfit too.

Straight-style jacket, £7.49

I love this so much! I don't have many jackets but I really like this one - in fact the whole outfit goes together so well. I really love the contrast of the bright coloured shorts with the blazer - I would never have thought to pair it with such a bright colour myself. High bouffant hair and heels would push this look to a more glam level as the jacket has a very smart feel. Try adding a few funky buttons or brooches to the jacket for a much more original look.

Classic denim jacket, £19.99

Another trend I have been wary of for a while (I have nightmares about my denim fashion mishaps as a teen!), denim jackets are a lot more daunting then they seem. With so many different colours and types, it's hard to find what is best for you without looking silly! I really love this jacket though, its not your typical blue denim but is still very stylish. I think this would look lovely with most things, especially a long flowing summer dress!

Flared lace top, £7.99

This top (also available in black and beige) is so stylish right now, especially in this bright, block pink colour. This is a top that is ideal for summer but would also look good worn on a night out. Lace is so on trend at the moment, purchasing this top in beige would give you a really nice vintage look! Bright lips would suit this look.

By our guest blogger Laura Lowe

Venues. Bain of my life.

We have spent the last few weeks looking for a reception venue, but where do you start?! There are so many people to please, with the food, drink, location, size etc etc. Now I know why bride’s get so stressed! And I’m not even close to the wedding!

I look to the three fountains of knowledge in my life: the wedding bible which says to create a budget and stick to it. My mother who says that to pay anything over £5,000 (the cost of hers 20 years ago!) for a wedding is an absolute crime. My vicar who says to not worry about the cost as it is the act that is important. So out of all of these pieces of advice, which do we listen to?

The answer to that, is none.

Armed with the brochures from the wedding fayres, and a long list of contact details compiled over an evening of Chinese and a (few) bottle(s) of wine, we spent an afternoon ringing venues for prices and information, and consequently, crossing them off the list one-by-one.

Our Criteria:

  1. Close to the church
  2. Car parking and accommodation close by
  3. Cheap
  4. Pretty
  5. Accessible

This seems like an impossible task.

I gave up.

Rob however, being the trooper that he is, kept searching and we, or should I say he, eventually found a little village hall at the bottom of the Wrekin. Seems to tick all of the boxes, so good so far! We weren’t really envisioning a village hall as the venue, but I’m open to suggestions, and the cheaper the wedding, the better the honeymoon!

Check back next time to see what we thought of the venue!

Week of 1st - 8th May 2011

Funky Hands!
Just used nail stickers for the first time and love them!

Mmm hotdogs!
We're obsessed with hot dogs in our family, me, my brother and my sister regularly hold hot dog dinner parties/nights so I was in heaven when I spotted this in ASDA!

Er, where have all my clothes gone?
This is what greeted me when I returned back up North - and this was AFTER I unpacked! Clearly I've got a pile of washing/ironing to do and I best get on with it!

Research?!
Yes I should be doing my dissertation but I promise you this is research! Half my money goes on at least 4 different magazines a month!

My life
This is how I'll be spending the rest of my week - at this messy desk, on this laptop doing my dissertation. *sigh*

This picture is from a few weeks ago now from on my work experience but I really love this outfit! This week I've not done nothing interesting as I've been working on my dissertation (which means slobby clothes, hardly any makeup etc) so I thought I'd use this as my 'Look Of The Week'!

I went for a very vintage look, teaming the dress with vintage accessories. I adore this dress, its so chic and stylish right now. It has a peter pan collar which I love! I also like the structured shoulders which are also very stylish, but as you can see in the second photo they look a bit silly and scrunched up when posing like that! The outfit was really more for practicality, it was lovely and hot in London but it was cold on the coach early in the morning which is why I wore matching tights. My only dislike are the fact that both the tights and shoes are black so they really blend into one and look a bit silly! I didn't bother much with my hair as I never had time in the mornings but adding the bow accessory to clip back my fringe spruced the do up a bit. I think I'll be looking out for a belt to break up the outfit a little. I haven't added a photo of accessories or nails as I didn't bother much with accessories ; I wore only some wooden bangles and my nails were the same colour as they were in the last 'Look Of The Week'!

Floral Sleeveless Dress, £24.00, Dorothy Perkins

I love this simple, floral summery dress from Dorothy Perkins. I think what I like most about it is that its sleeveless - the basic straight down shape means it would look absolutely amazing teamed with heels and bracelets piled high on each arm. I really love the vintage pattern as well. For a look thats more suitable for the day, tuck it into a high waisted skirt or shorts especially for summer with some plain pumps. Pink lips with vintage earring studs would also complete the look.

Satin Strappy Platform, £24.99, New Look

These strappy sandles really get me in the mood for the summer. This hot pink shade will brighten up any outfit and would look lovely with a plain white dress. Match your nails to this colour by painting them pink. Wear these with a little black dress for an evening/clubbing look that really stands out with a french pedicure.

Ruffle Bow Back Camisole, £30.00, ASOS

I really love tops that have interesting back detail like this as I think its so refreshing. I think its a much classier approach to showing a little flesh on a night out too, as opposed to flashing your cleavage or legs! This top is majorly cute and looks really good with shorts. This outfit should be kept very simple with pumps for in the day, or heels for the evening. Brush your hair and curl it to one side to really show off the back detail with this dress.

Magali Tailored Pleat Dress in Camel, £21.99, Missguided

I'm really loving all the honey and mustard yellows that we are seeing this summer as I think they are key pieces to your wardrobe - any girl should own something in a nice eye catching shade of yellow! This dress is incredibly vintage with its mid length sleeves and the skinny belt to give it more shape.

Paris Charm Bracelet, £14.00, Accessorize

This gorgeous bracelet will have you dreaming of a romantic summer spent in Paris! If you can't afford to travel to France, get this bracelet instead for a subtle hint of romance to your outfit. Wear it with anything at all, but bright red or blue heels will really be eye catching as they match the bows on this bracelet.

Week of 25th - 30th April  2011

I have decided to start this new weekly feature as a little insight into my life and what I've been doing! I thought it would be a bit different from what you normally see on the blog as well. Enjoy!

How I'll be spending my summer..!
I've recently got back into reading and have been snooping around charity shops every time I've been out shopping in the past few weeks and this is the pile of books I've got to read this summer! I can't wait!

A housewarming present to myself and some craft goodies
Even though I haven't technically sorted out my new flat yet, I couldn't resist buying these cute vintage coasters that read 'Cuppa Tea? Brewed In Britain'. My mum always says its only once you get your own place that you start to worry about things being clean and tidy and I think she's right, I will not stand for a dirty table! Ha! And these cute craft things are for my scrapbook/card making. I am aware that I don't know what I'll use them for yet, but they are too cute!

Bear overload
My mum made these really cute bear biscuits for my sister's village party!

Chocolate in proportion
Girls, if you want to diet, then get yourself down to M&S and pick up one of these! These adorable little indulgence pots are only a pound and even come with a spoon! If you're trying to tone up for summer and can't give up chocolate here's your answer ; eat it, but only in proportion! One of these as a treat just once a week surely can't be too naughty can it..?

Mum, Dad and Jasper having a picnic in the park!
Me and my parents - and my dog - went for a picnic at a place called Ashridge this week. Unfortunately, when we got there it was packed full of kids on an easter egg hunt! We had a nice stroll through the woods then sat down for a picnic. Lovely day!

Trying out new cookie cutters
Mum loves to bake and got a set of cookie cutters from the bootsale. She tried them out and made my name - well, a shortened version anyway. They were very nice. Thanks Mum!

Welly Wanging
My sister lives in this really nice village and she is on the village committee so helped plan a village party for the Royal Wedding! There were games, cocktails, food, a band and even fireworks! It was a really lovely day, it didn't rain and the food was delicious. I don't know if you can see wellies flying all over in the picture, but that's people taking part in a game of welly wanging! Myself, my mum, my sister and her friend competed in the 'four legged race' game which turned out to be a disaster when we all fell over (much like everyone else) and I ended up flashing my thong and bottom to the whole village! I've never been so embarrassed in my life! It was still a lovely day though and a perfect end to one of my last days down South.
